Contributing

All are welcome to contribute to Fortran index, provided they abide by the code of conduct of the Computational Abilities Knowledge Exchange (CAKE) network. See the CODE_OF_CONDUCT.md file for more details. Please familiarise yourself with its terms before beginning your contribution.

Ways to contribute

There are lots of ways to contribute to the Fortran index initiative, as detailed below.

Open an issue on the fortran-lang repository

To propose an addition, correction, modification, restructuring, or removal from the fortran-lang webpage, open an issue on the fortran-lang webpage repository.

Open a pull request on the fortran-lang repository

If you have found or opened an issue in the fortran-lang webpage repository and would like to start work on it, first read the contribution guidelines. You will likely need to fork the fortran-lang webpage repository before you can open a pull request. See the setup page for some tips related to this.

Open an issue on the Fortran index repository

To raise an issue related to how the Fortran index repository or documentation is structured, or to make a suggestion related to how the hackathon series is run, raise an issue on the Fortran index repository.

Attend a Fortran index hackathon

The best way to get involved in the Fortran index initiative is to attend a hackathon. In these regular virtual events, contributors meet as a group to combine our efforts. See the events page for information related to upcoming hackathons, including registration details.
